What is the Medical Students' Society (MSS)?

The Medical Students' Society (MSS) is the organization that represents the interests of medical students at McGill University.

Who can be a member of the MSS?

The membership of the Medical Students' Society consists of both active and honorary members.  

Active Members include any student enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine of McGill University and working towards the MDCM degree.  Only active members of the Society are considered to be voting members.

All students in the Med-P, MD-PhD and MD-MBA programs are granted honorary membership.  Honorary Members also include any person chosen by a majority vote by the General Council of the Society.  Honorary members may participate in Society activities and attend and speak at all Society meetings and honorary membership is valid only for the duration of the acting General Council’s mandate.

About the Lady Meredith Annex (Student Space)

What is the Annex?

The Lady Meredith Annex (also known as: the Annex, the McGill Medical Annex, Meredith Annex) is a common meeting place for members of the McGill Medical Students' Society (MSS). The Annex is to be a place where friendly relations are pursued and good will engendered. It was opened in order for students to have a special place to study, organize meetings and activities or simply hang out.

Where can I find the Annex?

The Annex is located at 3706 Peel St., Montreal (Quebec).  Please refer to the Annex page.

Is it open?

Thanks to the support of the alumni, the faculty and the university, the Annex has been open to all medical students since July 10, 2010. Please refer to the Annex page.

Can I book a room? How do I do so?

We have a conference room, a group study area and a lounge area which can all be booked by MSS members, MSS clubs, McGill medical students and members of the Faculty of Medicine. These rooms may be booked online using the Annex room booking request form.
